Not advice

SumLark provides general information and estimates. It is not financial, tax, legal, employment, pension or investment advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account. We are not authorised or regulated to give financial advice. If you need advice, speak to a qualified professional or the official body.

Results are estimates

Every figure is an estimate. The real amount depends on things we cannot know, such as your tax code, other income, your employer’s payroll, your contract, your tariff, your meter readings and the exact dates involved. Your payslip, your HMRC records, your bill or the official calculator is the final word.

Each calculator says which assumptions it makes. If any of them does not match your situation, the result may be wrong for you.

Rates and rules change

We take rates and rules from official sources (such as GOV.UK, HMRC and Ofgem), cite them on each page and show when the page was last updated. Tax rates and thresholds, minimum wages, the energy price cap and other figures change on set dates. Between our updates a page may be out of date. Always check the official source for anything important.

We are independent

SumLark is not part of, run by or endorsed by HMRC, GOV.UK, Ofgem or any government body, energy supplier, employer or bank. Where we compare our results with an official tool, that is for checking only.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for decisions you make using the site. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from relying on a result. See our Terms of Use for details.
